PhotoSpeak Session: 001
I’ve walked passed this mural so many times. I’ve even photographed it before thinking I had ”the shot!” But this time it felt different. So what made it special? Well, quite simply, it was the incredible reflective light.
It was just after 7 pm and the sun had set behind most of the tall buildings seen in the background. A few rays had managed to seep through and bounced off the building windows across the street. This illuminated the woman’s eyes on the right side of the mural with a warm, golden light. I was moved at that moment. I remember saying to myself “look at these tall, uninspiring corporate structures overpowering this masterpiece.” It was then that I realized why you always gotta root for the underdog.
SPECS
The Camera: iPhone4 native camera
The Apps: SnapSeed, VSCO Cam
The Edit: Snapseed for overall vibrancy and vignetting, along with sharpening at +8. I try to keep all editing changes subtle, especially vignetting. I then loaded the image into Vsco Cam for a bit of temperature change, in this case, warmth +7. Every photo is different and therefore should be edited as such.
